- Incident Tracking System (ITS) records incidents such as problems, events,
- discrepancies, or other issues that must be tracked. ITS records and reports
- calls received by a Technical Support Organization or Help Desk, or it tracks
- problems in Quality Assurance. ITS has large description and resolution
- fields for each incident, and maintains a history of all changes to each
- incident. Users enter the steps for resolving problems, ITS then
- automatically assigns a person to each step; at the start of each step, ITS
- sends and e-mail reminder to the person. Users can adapt the system without
- programming, by defining prompts, choice lists, and help information for each
- of a series of custom fields. ITS includes security features to limit who can
- view/change incidents or system information. The system has extensive
- searching capability, including searching the custom fields, and a report
- writer for creating custom reports.
